First Day of Preschool

Well, we made it to the first day of Pre-K only 5 minutes late! (Hmmm. I can throw a rock at the school we live so close and we were still late-Ha!).The K-Man just did not understand the concept of, "hurry, eat your oatmeal!" The morning went smoothly and K. was excited. We had gotten him a gift to get him pumped for the big adventure. It was a United States puzzle. He loved it and started finding the states that we have learned from all of my adorable husband's travels.

I made a brownie pencil for K.'s first day. I thought it turned out pretty good. We will see how it tastes when K. comes home from school while we talk about his day. After I came home from dropping him off I did notice some icing was missing- the stinker!

The K-Man is sooo used to me taking pictures of him constantly (poor kid!)! Here is a "cheese" in front of his classroom door! Notice the sign says, "Today is Tuesday."...I knew this would be a good school!

Here is my sweet first born with his teacher, Mrs. Nikki. Doesn't she look so kind and fun? She better have eaten some Wheaties for breakfast!

The K-Man walked in, put his backpack where it needed to go and found a puzzle. The morning was done and the school day started! I am blessed that K. has always been confident in himself and makes friends easily. He is such a trooper.

Quotes for the first Day of Pre-K:

"I will be coming back!" After we make K. give B. a hug for a second time.
"Thanks for the Luck!" After giving his Daddy a hug.
"I know Momma, I know!" After me telling him I love him while driving to school.

Unbelievable! I just still find it hard to believe that K-man is so big. He is going to love love love school. It is just the beginning for you of days full of new experiences. Give the boys a hug? Did I tell you that drove past the Weatherford and the Aledo exits on Saturday and thought of you?

Lynn,
Yes you did! But I noticed you didn't stop! Were you visiting your new grandaughter? Please, please stop by for cold tea or hot coffee next time you are in the area! AND bring your oldest daughter (Ha!)

It looks like K. is adjusting very well to his new school (not that I'd thought he'd have a problem :) The brownie cake, by the way, is soooo cute! You are such a good mom to think of making that for him! I'm so glad things are going well today and K. is making new friends. Boy, he looks so much older in his picture than the last time I saw him. They grow up so fast...

It sounds like the first day of school went really well. I love that you got him a little gift and make such a cute cake. You have given me some good ideas for next year. Thanks

Lacie, love the pencil cake! I saw it in "Family Fun" magazine and thought how cute it would be to make for the kids... that's as far as I got with that train of thought. LOL

I'm so glad that K. had a great day. Sounds like he will LOVE going and will be a dream for any teacher to have.

P.S. I have a tradition of having homemade chocolate chip cookies waiting for the kids after their first day of school. This year though, we ended up at Dairy Queen for Ice Cream since the ladies were at the house cleaning.

P.P.S. Thanks so much for always commenting on my blog, it really means a lot to me. Sometimes I feel like it just sits out there on the side of the internet superhighway. lol
