The new year aways brings on my "The Organizer" side. I love to organize. I will organize and re-organize my cabinets, pantry, closet...just for the thrill of it! I know I'm totally sick- but it could be worse! Well, in the past I had heard of the The Container Store , but I had never been close enough to one to check it out(well, 45 minutes is still a bit far-Ha!). Let me just say, that I have NOW been to The Container Store and I am in Love! If you have a "The Organizer" side indulge yourself!
I have been in my closet all morning with all the NEW, FUN stuff I found!
*** Update from later in the day...
Ok. Now I have a ton of clothes that I no longer can fit my cute backside in (Ha!) OR I don't want to be seen on "What not to Wear" in (Ha!Ha!). AnyWhoo- What should I do with them is the dilemma...Do I take them to Goodwill or take the time to find and take them to a resale??? What do you do with your "extra" clothes?

I love Organizer Lacie! You really should start your own business--I'll be your first client!
If you get a chance, post some after pics when you get done and share your tips.
The more I learn about you, the more I find out how similar we are! I LOVE LOVE LOVE to organize- I could be a professional organizer! As for The Container Store- it's one of my favorites! Shane hates to go in there with me because I could spend hours looking and everything!!! Oh, and they have super cute (but a bit expensive) Christmas paper- I get it on sale the day after Christmas every year!!!
Lacie I am so jealous!! We need one of those stores here in Victoria.
Oh how I wish I were an organizer! Actually, I can organize, but only one thing at a time and everything else goes to pot. It's not a pretty sight!
I used to do the retail stores for our clothes. But it turned out to be a bigger hassle than it was worth. I donate to Goodwill now. However! For the kids' clothes, definitely try Ebay for their nicer, good condition items they have outgrown. You really can make some money back on them. If you have questions about how to do it, ask me, I've had LOTS of experience with that. I have actually bought Chloe's nice dresses on Ebay and turned around the next year and sold some for more than I originally paid. You know kids usually just outgrow their nicer things, rather than getting stained, etc. And if you have any Gymboree, Tommy or other name brand items, they sell really well!
That's my 2 cents worth! :)
Yeah! I love to organize too. ;) As far as your old clothes go - I would first decide how much time you want to spend on them. Then make your decision.
My adult clothes that don't fit, the easiest thing I have found is to give to Goodwill. Professional clothes, slacks, dresses, etc, you can donate to a cause that specializes getting ex-cons or single moms (and dads) jobs. If you take general everyday clothes to a resale shop, you generally don't get much money, if anything, and they often don't tell you when your time is up, they keep the clothes and will sell them and keep the money. There's my two cents!
